Early Learning Profile

What is an Early Learning Profile assessment?

These are assessments for children aged 5 to 8 who may be experiencing some early learning challenges.

While it's too early to make a formal diagnosis of dyslexia at this stage, an Early Learning Assessment helps build a clearer picture of your child’s learning profile. It can provide valuable insights into specific areas which would benefit from support or early intervention. Findings from the assessment are used to generate tailored recommendations for support for home, school and specialist tutors.

Before the assessment I will send out questionnaires to be completed by parents and your child’s school. The questionnaires will collect relevant background information to understand your child’s learning experiences and key challenges so far.

Which areas are assessed?

Each assessment will be tailored to a child’s specific needs and the assessment objectives. Areas of assessment focus may include:

  • Memory and concentration

  • Speed of processing information

  • Early phonics skills

  • Reading, writing, and spelling

  • Verbal/nonverbal reasoning skills

 What happens after the assessment?

You’ll receive a summary report that includes:

  • Key findings from the assessment

  • A clear outline of specific areas that would benefit from additional support

  • Bespoke, practical suggestions to support your child’s learning at home, in the classroom, and with a specialist tutor should you decide to use one

The Early Learning Profile costs £450, including a 30 minute follow up call to discuss results, recommendations and ensure both learners and families feel informed, supported and confident about the path ahead.
